We are pleased and honored to announce that Lucid Light of Austin will be showcased at this year's Voice and Exit, the Festival of the Future. If you're anywhere near Austin this weekend, you don't want to miss this! There will be an incredible lineup of speakers, thinkers, interactive technology, art, and people who "be" really well.
There will be a special section this year called, "Tea and Trance" where we will share the effortless meditation available via the Lucia No.3 hypnagogic light while Robin Arnott of the international award-winning SoundSelf; a virtual reality game introduces people to technologies that will aid them in breathwork and reaching trance-like states.
When examining consciousness, we would be remiss not to speak of death and what we think happens to our consciousness when we make the final transition in this plane.
We want to introduce you to a friend with an expansive experience practicing and teaching meditation who has written a book called Overcoming the Fear of Death, Kelvin Chin.
As a teacher of meditation for 40 years, Kelvin Chin has deep experience in the field of self-development, and brings a refreshing "pragmatic idealist" approach, grounded in "knowing oneself," to his work in legal services, business development, mediation, meditation, and overcoming the fear of death.
He has been working with audiences on death and dying issues since the 1980's and has taught numerous seminars for the healthcare industry, was a Long Term Care Ombudsman for the California Department of Aging, and a co-founder of the Center For Medical Ethics and Mediation.
His book is unique. He outlines 4 belief systems regarding death that underlie all religions and cultures. His approach is nonreligious and aims to increase readers' understandings about death through their own lens of belief without creating a need to modify their individual belief structures to reduce their fear of death.
He explains 4 Main Belief Systems About Death:
1) No Belief in Afterlife
2) Afraid of Heaven or Hell
3) Looking Forward to Heaven
4) Belief in Past Lives
He walks people through the process using personal stories from friends and family in a way that humanizes the subject, making the book a ‘fun read.’
Kelvin has taught meditation in living rooms, schools, businesses worldwide for 40 years and does work with individuals in person and via phone, Internet, and Skype. Kelvin has taught more than 1,000 people from extremely diverse socio-economic groups an easy-to-learn technique of naturally Turning Within with no concentration or religious affiliation required.
This has been a great week for us. The people we meet continually impress us with how ready and hungry they are to truly connect. We find ourselves being more mindful of being more mindful because of the beings who find their way to our office; constantly reminded that each person is a mirror for us and is there for a reason. We are entertained and educated by the increasing amount of synchronicity and insight that comes from each new person we have the opportunity of connecting with.
As exciting and full as today was, I created this: It is part of a series I've been working on entitled, "Insight".
Here's to the new day that brings shiny new mirrors for us that enhance our ability to be accountable to ourselves and our community and to act with empathy and understanding in everything that we do. May our connections find as much insight and healing by interacting with us as we do by our experiences with them.
Recently, we met with and shared the Lucid Light with people from three countries and four U.S. states. Each meeting was impactful on us and, I believe, on them. We met with people from extremely diverse lifestyles and socio-economic backgrounds, each looking to expand their personal meditation practices, but beyond that, to identify more fully with who they are as human beings and part of humanity.
In December of 2014, I received a call from my best friend from college. She had just met a young lady in San Francisco who introduced her to an amazing new technology, the Lucia N°03 (A hypnagogic light and meditation appliance). She spent the next one and a half hours detailing her 45 minute experience. She attempted to share what her experience was like: What she saw, heard, felt, and numerous attempts to explain what she encountered. It lead her to a peaceful loss for words.
As she was concluding her call, she said, “I think if I were to do this once a month, I’d flat be a better person.” That stopped me dead in my tracks. She is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever known. I was intrigued to the point of looking at airfares to fly over a thousand miles to try it myself. This may not sound like much to many of you, but I swore off non-mandatory air travel years ago and those close to me know how adamant I have been about it. To my surprise, I found myself flying from Austin, TX to Boulder, CO about two weeks later to meet up with my guide to the light. Allison turned out to be a delightful young lady who I readily identified with. She made me feel at home, bought me breakfast, drove me back to her office, made me herbal tea, and answered lots of questions I had about this amazing technology. Then, it was time.
I put on headphones and positioned myself comfortably on her couch, under a light that looks something like this:
Even after being told detail after detail of my friend’s experience, having all of my questions answered by my guide, and thinking I knew what I might experience, I still really had no idea what I was about to experience.

We hope to share our understandings, adventures, travels, and research with you regarding the Lucia N°03.
