Sorry for the late notification, we recently received verification that we would be participating in "Ritual" tonight. We are taking our traveling light and heading to the KIVA Lounge & Bar in San Marcos, Texas tonight! I might even bring some of my consciousness expanding psychedelic art to share with my fellow artists and Ritual goers. Ritual is a monthly live art and music event held in beautiful San Marcos for the purpose of sharing, generating, and celebrating culture. Please come join us in the frequencies and rhythms of the evening and show support for your local artists, music producers, and craft makers in the last big Ritual event before the intensity of the new semester takes hold. This month's Ritual gathering is filled with an amazing collection of music, visual arts, craft makers, and art lovers and creators of many walks. We have been asked to bring the Lucia no.3 Lucid Light and are excited to showcase it at Kiva tonight. As the organizers say, It'll "give you a tasty gulp of the local awesomeness of Central Texas!" If you are in the San Marcos Area tonight, stop in! A quick clip from their invite: "We strive to bring you local dance music and jamtronica acts to keep your body grooving and allow for an intimate space for producers and dis to connect with the audience. We are known for our large dance party. Everybody moves at Ritual. That's just how we do!" Come ready to participate, learn, dance and connect with your fellow humans... Creating and maintaining a daily meditation routine is a gentle way to come to understand oneself more fully and, by extension, how to be more comfortable, present, and effective in our internal and external universes. In our worlds of hurry and competition, it can be easy to lose track of the importance of turning inward. We often value the wisdom and insight of others above that available within our own consciousness. Taking a few minutes a day to quiet the mind can have tremendous impact on our psychology and our physiology. Those few moments of stillness can provide access to the quiet whispers of the mind that provide clarity, insight, and direction. Many find physical activities to be integral to creating a daily routine as better physical health lends itself to greater mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Finding balance with physical activities is also important. Your body can look amazing and everyone else will think you are healthy, but if you are out of balance, you are less effective on impacting what's within you and what impacts you from the outside. When examining consciousness, we would be remiss not to speak of death and what we think happens to our consciousness when we make the final transition in this plane. We want to introduce you to a friend with an expansive experience practicing and teaching meditation who has written a book called Overcoming the Fear of Death, Kelvin Chin. As a teacher of meditation for 40 years, Kelvin Chin has deep experience in the field of self-development, and brings a refreshing "pragmatic idealist" approach, grounded in "knowing oneself," to his work in legal services, business development, mediation, meditation, and overcoming the fear of death. He has been working with audiences on death and dying issues since the 1980's and has taught numerous seminars for the healthcare industry, was a Long Term Care Ombudsman for the California Department of Aging, and a co-founder of the Center For Medical Ethics and Mediation. His book is unique. He outlines 4 belief systems regarding death that underlie all religions and cultures. His approach is nonreligious and aims to increase readers' understandings about death through their own lens of belief without creating a need to modify their individual belief structures to reduce their fear of death. He explains 4 Main Belief Systems About Death: 1) No Belief in Afterlife 2) Afraid of Heaven or Hell 3) Looking Forward to Heaven 4) Belief in Past Lives He walks people through the process using personal stories from friends and family in a way that humanizes the subject, making the book a ‘fun read.’ Kelvin has taught meditation in living rooms, schools, businesses worldwide for 40 years and does work with individuals in person and via phone, Internet, and Skype. Kelvin has taught more than 1,000 people from extremely diverse socio-economic groups an easy-to-learn technique of naturally Turning Within with no concentration or religious affiliation required. I have recently heard a wide range of people use the phrase, "Knowing what we know...". Each was speaking of something dramatically different. Some applied it to the same topic, but from a radically different perspective.
The juxtaposition between the assumption that we possess and process from a bank of common knowledge and that we draw from very different backgrounds, experiences, insights is worthy of exploration. Perspectives and perceptions shift dynamically from person to person and the potential for them shift with an individual is often greater than we recognize as our personalities and perceptions are not static. May beauty burst forth from each of us, releasing us from the bondage of not being enough. Within the depths of our being reside answers to all the questions--asked and unasked. Embrace the expansive universe of possibility, wonder, connectivity, and community available to us all. There are no ordinary moments!
We jumped right in and started blogging without introducing ourselves or sharing what we hope to address in this blog. So we're taking a moment to fix that... We are Erik and Samantha, and we wish to welcome you to participate by sharing your opinions, ideas, and inspirations as we go. We are working on creating a bulletin board that we hope will increase intercommunication between those of us interested in many of the topics we will discuss on the blog. What topics do we plan to explore? We expect to venture through a wide range of topics including, but not limited to: meditation, the pineal gland, sacred geometry, nutrition, digital art, neuro art, the artist's mind, philosophy, breathwork, brain hacking, creating community, spirituality, our reality(ies), altered realities, psychology, improving communication and cooperation, and other nifty topics that you or we come up with. Transcendental brainwave states One topic we are obviously interested in is access to transcendental brainwave states via the Lucia N3 Lucid Light. People meditate for decades to experience moments of lucidity that transform their realities; providing glimpses into their true selves as they discover sense of wholeness, compassion, and connection. We believe this effortless meditation device provides dramatically increased ability to access these realms, effortlessly. You read that right. It’s an Effortless Meditation Device. This hypnagogic light appears to have the ability to synch brainwaves in such a manner as to allow you to float in the realm between sleep and wakefulness (the hypnagogic state). |
