In my first sessions with the Lucia No.3, the first patterns I noticed emerging were starbursts and rays of cuboidal images of blues, oranges, and reds, so that's where I started. Beginning by creating simple starburst patterns, rotating the starbursts and filling each in with more rays. I then tried platonic solids on rays, and repeated and extended the patterns that resulted. That led me to using sacred geometric designs and repeating their patterns in different arrangements, sizes, and opacities. I began trying to replicate what I was doing by using specialized software I found that would allow me to enter the number of points, recursion depth, ratios, angles, radius, opacity, color, repetition data, etc. What you see below are my favorites selected from hours and days of attempts.
When I first encountered the Lucid Light, I tried and tried to explain some of what I saw under the light, but felt as if my words were not doing the experience justice. I began doodling similar to the Zentangles mentioned in a previous blog post. I've always created art for myself. I say I would like to sell my art, but seldom do and have found myself discouraging and blocking people from purchasing it. These were up in my office for a short while before a client decided they would look better in her yoga room. She continued to say she wanted them and I finally conceded. I think I'll print another set as they became welcome focal points for me when doing afternoon meditations and during hands-on healing work. I'm thrilled that people are enjoying the art I love to create.

This mandala a visual representation of positive intent for those who value and defend our water, our lands, our air, our people; and for those who have come to defend them. May you find empathy, peace, health, joy, courage and find greater connection to all of humanity. May the community formed by those of you gathering to defend our earth and water become a catalyst for powerful reconnection to creator, creation, and each other. This mandala a visual representation of positive intent for those who came to represent the government and corporations. May you find empathy, peace, health, joy, courage and find greater connection to all of humanity. May the community formed by those gathered to defend our earth, water, and people become inspirations that empower you to recognize a powerful reconnection to creator, creation, and each other. Be love. We are I.
This has been a great week for us. The people we meet continually impress us with how ready and hungry they are to truly connect. We find ourselves being more mindful of being more mindful because of the beings who find their way to our office; constantly reminded that each person is a mirror for us and is there for a reason. We are entertained and educated by the increasing amount of synchronicity and insight that comes from each new person we have the opportunity of connecting with. As exciting and full as today was, I created this: It is part of a series I've been working on entitled, "Insight". Here's to the new day that brings shiny new mirrors for us that enhance our ability to be accountable to ourselves and our community and to act with empathy and understanding in everything that we do. May our connections find as much insight and healing by interacting with us as we do by our experiences with them.
Recently, we met with and shared the Lucid Light with people from three countries and four U.S. states. Each meeting was impactful on us and, I believe, on them. We met with people from extremely diverse lifestyles and socio-economic backgrounds, each looking to expand their personal meditation practices, but beyond that, to identify more fully with who they are as human beings and part of humanity. My sweetheart was doing her best to understand as I gushed about my experiences with the Lucid Light. She looked at me as if I lost a number of my few remaining marbles. I shared what each of the light programs I tried “felt” like. Attempting to explain the numerous, vibrant, indescribable colors, the sacred geometry, the visions, and a sudden acceptance of the possibility of a multi-verse. With each new sentence out of my mouth, I could see that she was trying to blink away her disbelief and embrace the crazy words coming out of my mouth. She listened to me as I told her of warm sensations; reminiscent of happy childhood memories, sacred geometry beyond my wildest dreams, and a sense that no matter what — everything is O.K.. I don’t think she was convinced by my words, but the changes I exhibited caught her attention. The first recognizable alteration to my typical state was noticeable when calling her right after my first full Lucid Light session. She was taken by how calmly I interacted with her on the phone while I was in the passenger seat of a friend’s car as she closely tailgated the car in front of us in heavy snow, during rush hour. I stayed calm and quiet about her driving... really calm. As days passed, my words and actions indicated an extended manifestation of the impacts of the light. It became apparent that she was becoming more certain about our potential purchase. Then Samantha said to me, "We need to find a way to bring this light back to Austin. We have friends and family who could really benefit." In December of 2014, I received a call from my best friend from college. She had just met a young lady in San Francisco who introduced her to an amazing new technology, the Lucia N°03 (A hypnagogic light and meditation appliance). She spent the next one and a half hours detailing her 45 minute experience. She attempted to share what her experience was like: What she saw, heard, felt, and numerous attempts to explain what she encountered. It lead her to a peaceful loss for words. As she was concluding her call, she said, “I think if I were to do this once a month, I’d flat be a better person.” That stopped me dead in my tracks. She is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever known. I was intrigued to the point of looking at airfares to fly over a thousand miles to try it myself. This may not sound like much to many of you, but I swore off non-mandatory air travel years ago and those close to me know how adamant I have been about it. To my surprise, I found myself flying from Austin, TX to Boulder, CO about two weeks later to meet up with my guide to the light. Allison turned out to be a delightful young lady who I readily identified with. She made me feel at home, bought me breakfast, drove me back to her office, made me herbal tea, and answered lots of questions I had about this amazing technology. Then, it was time. I put on headphones and positioned myself comfortably on her couch, under a light that looks something like this: Even after being told detail after detail of my friend’s experience, having all of my questions answered by my guide, and thinking I knew what I might experience, I still really had no idea what I was about to experience.
Do you ever wake up with a drive to create? Yesterday was filled with sessions, emails, tearing down a small building, making callbacks, creating a new brochure and accomplishing numerous cleaning tasks around our home. When the dust settled, I carved some time to create. Most works you see on my site are created by us. I was not a digital artist until experiencing the Lucid Light. I began trying to reproduce the dramatic, colorful, mandala-like designs I saw. Initially, I started with platonic solids that I rotated on an axis and I began adding layers, then colors. The learning curve on each piece of art and each additional piece of software I use to produce my visions feels like it becomes longer and steeper with each step. Admittedly, I love the challenge and each piece is as much fun as it is challenging The Kaleidoscope was created in February of this last year, as we were waiting for our to arrive. I found it very reminiscent of some of my experiences under the light. It's an attempted recreation of some of the intricate, colorful designs and colors from early light sessions. The Sacred Geometry of Fire was created last night as I applied ice to my building demolishing muscles. To me, it creates a sensation of the heat and magic of the day and the cool mathematics of the movement of the night sky while capturing the expansion of the unity of the two. Each day opens up new channels of insight, understanding, and inspiration. Meditations engage the self in journeys of creativity, insight, and accountability. These journeys often impress, intrigue, and inspire an additional desire to search further within. An increase in the amount of empathy being produced is unavoidable.
